![]() U.S.News names St.Vincent as one of top heart programs
INDIANAPOLIS, July 12, 2000 U.S.News & World Reports 11th Annual Guide to Americas Best Hospitals has recognized St.Vincents heart program as one of the top 50 programs in the nation for the third year in a row. U.S.News & World Report ranks St.Vincents heart program as 27th in the nation. St.Vincent was also recognized as having the top heart program in Indiana. In 1999, St.Vincents heart program was ranked 42nd in the nation. The Indiana Heart Institute at St.Vincent is the partnership responsible for coordinating the efforts of the surgeons, cardiologists and hospital professionals serving heart patients. The institute includes 87 cardiologists and 22 cardiovascular surgeons that provide 15,000 medical procedures each year. "We are pleased that St.Vincents heart program has once again been recognized as one of the best in the nation," said Marsha Casey, president of St.Vincent Hospitals and Health Services. "This national honor further solidifies our commitment to being a leading provider of healthcare." Over the last several years, St.Vincent has received a number of national honors including two consecutive years as a 100 Top Hospital in the United States, and four consecutive years as the most preferred hospital in Indianapolis. "These honors are a reflection of the compassionate care delivered by our associates, physicians and volunteers," said Casey. |
