Pre-Cardiac Catheterization Instructions

Report To:

Outpatient Surgery
St. Vincent Hospital
2001 West 86th Street
Indianapolis, IN 46240
First Floor, Near the main entrance

We understand this is a stressful experience for you and your child. Our goal is to make you and your child as comfortable and as informed as possible. The information below will help us meet our goal.

  • Your child must not eat or drink before the cardiac catheterization. If your child has anything to eat or drink, the procedure may be delayed or rescheduled.

  • You may park in the north parking lot located in front of St. Vincent Hospital. (Free parking)

  • It is very important that a family member be available during and after the cardiac catheterization. This helps to keep you informed and helps us find you in case of an emergency. The doctor will speak with you when the procedure is completed.

  • A cardiology nurse will call you a few days before the procedure. The nurse will give you an arrival time, eating and drinking instructions; medication instructions and answer any questions you may have about the procedure.

Please call our office if you have any questions about the instructions.
